About St Andrew's House
Built in 1895, this stunning Victorian mansion house offers spacious rooms with original features. Both the North Wing (sleeps up to six) and the South Wing (sleeps four) enjoy spectacular sea views over the Firth of Clyde to Isle of Arran and Ailsa Craig - waters travelled by Outlander’s Jamie Fraser, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce.
On the horizon is the Mountain of Goatfell (874m high), on the Isle of Arran. In the foreground is the island of Holy Isle, a Centre for World Peace and Health. St Andrews House is situated to the west of the confluent of the mighty Pow Burn at St Andrews Ford. St Ninians pilgramage from Paisley to Isle of Whithorn also follows the path through here!
The river is populated by our resident swans and visited by red mullet. The sunsets to the west are spectacular, clear skies bring starry nights and clouds bring drama! Our self catering acommodation is available for golfing holidays, romantic breaks and family occasions.
St Andrews House is set between Old Prestwick and Royal Troon Golf Courses. The Open championship was created at Old Prestwick and continues to be played at the various championship golf courses in the area, such as Turnberry, Royal Troon and Dundonald Links.
The National Cycle path (Route 7) runs parallel to the park and crosses the entrance. Walkers can enjoy the magnificent scenery along the Ayrshire Coastal Walking Path (Route 7), which leads to two blonde sandy beaches of Troon and Prestwick.
We are in walking distance of Glasgow Prestwick International Airport and Prestwick Airport train station. The trains depart every half hour to and from the town of Ayr and Glasgow Central train station in the centre of Glasgow.
The park is open from March to October and has a pub and laundry.
